We're a group of the 8 Communities That Care (CTC) coalitions serving the UP. CTC is evidence-based to help lower rates of youth problem behaviors, including substance use, violence, delinquency, school drop out, teen pregnancy, and depression. Our goal is simple: Create communities in the Upper Peninsula where youth thrive.
Communities That Care (CTC) is a prevention system that’s made a difference to real kids in real communities for nearly 30 years. It guides communities through a proven five-phase change process. Using prevention science as its base, CTC promotes healthy youth development, improves youth outcomes, and reduces problem behaviors.
The CTC process begins with a youth survey to identify a community’s risks and strengths. Based on these data, CTC helps communities select and implement tested & effective prevention programs and policies. CTC also helps amplify programs already working. CLICK HERE for more info.
Guiding Good Choices parenting class and Intro to CTC are available on a regular basis, and VapeEducate online self-paced classes for school staff and parents are available until September.
$1 invested into the CTC system = $11.14 savings to the community
